Small Scale Gender Reveal Party

Today, I’ll be sharing with you how I decorated for a gender reveal party. Decorating for a gender reveal party is quite easy and doesn’t require having a large budget. One thing you don’t have to worry about is the color scheme as it’ll be mostly blue and pink. Luckily for me, my living room already has blue and pink accent decor.

Since this was a casual and intimate event at my home, I primarily focused on decorating a snack/dessert table. Since I was working with a small space, I wanted to keep the decor minimal and organic. Luckily for me, my living room already has blue and pink accent decor. I used the pink curtains I already had in my living room as inspiration for the rest of the decor.

Tip # 1: If you are on a budget or don’t have the energy to buy a backdrop, you can use the curtains that are already in your living room as a backdrop. I am lucky to have a large window in my tiny NYC apartment, so I decided to use it as a backdrop for my table setup.

I added a floral garland on top which was a DIY project. I purchased Eucalyptus garland and glued roses with a glue gun. I then used floral wire to attach the garland on the curtain rod. The garland looked realistic and can be repurposed in other projects.

Tip # 2: Instead of using a table cloth, use fabric for the table. You can purchase fabric by the yard for this. The quality is better, its reusable, and it looks better than plastic table cloths.

Tip # 3: To make the table arrangement more appealing to the eye, use different height platters. To give more height, I used old textbooks and placed them underneath the cloth.

For the table decor, I decided to keep it simple and used fresh flowers. This is an easy way to spruce up your table while still keeping everything minimal and classy. This is also a great way to add some more color, as everything else will be mostly pink and blue.

I chose to serve small finger foods like cookies and sandwiches. The cake was custom ordered but the rest of the sandwiches and pastries were home made. If you are interested in recipes for any of the food, please comment below! I would love to share.

I hope some of these ideas show you how you can easily plan a gender reveal party, even if you have a small space and a tight budget!
